BROKERDIY VS FOLLOW UP BOSS

BrokerDIY vs Follow Up Boss: published org plans vs a per-user meter — and the migration, documented

Follow Up Boss is an established CRM with real per-user pricing: Grow lists at $69/user/month. BrokerDIY publishes its org plans, with seats included — no sales call, no quote. Here’s the honest comparison, including what FUB’s own docs say you can and cannot take with you. Shopping the wider field? See Follow Up Boss alternatives, priced and scored.

Follow Up Boss publishes its pricing: Grow is $69/user/month (billed per user), Pro is $499/month including 10 users with additional users at $49, and Platform is $1,000/month including 30 users with additional users at $20.⁷ BrokerDIY’s rate card lists its org plans on the page, with seats included.

Switching cost

Switching from Follow Up Boss: what actually moves

From Follow Up Boss’s own help center:⁸

  1. What you can take. FUB has a full built-in export: People → All People → filter → select → Export. Check “Export All Columns” and you get substantially everything per contact: stage, lead source, tags, up to six each of emails/phones/addresses, property fields, and — importantly — the most recent 50 calls, 50 texts, and 50 notes per contact, plus up to four relationships per contact.⁸
  2. What you cannot take. FUB’s docs say it plainly: emails cannot be exported (“Emails are only stored in Follow Up Boss, so they can’t be exported” — though mail sent through a connected inbox still lives in that inbox), and call recordings cannot be exported. History beyond the last 50 calls/texts/notes stays behind.⁸
  3. Who can run it. Exporting is owner-only by default; the account owner grants “Can Export” per user, and the owner is emailed a notification every time anyone exports. Run your export as the owner, with “All Columns” on.⁸
  4. Exporting deletes nothing — FUB’s docs repeat it twice. You can export while fully live and lose nothing.⁸
  5. What we do with it. BrokerDIY’s CSV import runs dry-run first, with a verdict on every row before anything is written, and a full import history you can re-check later.³
  6. In-flight deals. — (no published position yet; see the note at the bottom of this page)
  7. Overlap, not cliff. Export, dry-run import, verify, run FUB and BrokerDIY in parallel for a pay period, then cancel. Your FUB export remains on disk as your permanent backup copy.

Where Follow Up Boss still leads

Follow Up Boss is a focused, mature follow-up CRM with a large integration ecosystem and years of polish. If you want an established dedicated follow-up CRM and are happy paying per user, FUB delivers that today. BrokerDIY is the younger product; our case is the pricing model, the AI economics, the governance model, and seats included in every published plan.

Where BrokerDIY wins today
  • Seats come with the plan. FUB’s own pricing page bills Grow per user and charges per additional user on every team plan.⁷ Our rate card lists org plans with seats included — no sales call, no quote.
  • AI without the calling asterisk. FUB includes AI features but notes many rely on data from its paid Calling add-on.⁷ BrokerDIY includes AI usage within each plan’s action allowance.
  • A migration path in writing, including the two things FUB’s own docs say stay behind (emails, call recordings) — so the switch is planned, not discovered.⁸
  • Governed AI — human approval on any AI action that touches money or a client.
  • More than follow-up — tasks, calendar, and native CMA on the same org-scoped surface as leads and deals.

Straight answers

Follow Up Boss comparison questions, answered plainly.

How do I migrate from Follow Up Boss to BrokerDIY?

As the account owner, run FUB’s export with “Export All Columns” checked (People → All People → Export) — you get a CSV including the most recent 50 calls, texts, and notes per contact.⁸ A BrokerDIY workspace admin then runs our CSV import dry-run first, so you see every row’s verdict before anything is written.³ Note FUB’s limits: emails and call recordings don’t export, per FUB’s own docs.

Is BrokerDIY cheaper than Follow Up Boss?

Compare the models first: FUB bills per user — Grow at $69/user/mo, Pro at $499/mo for 10 users plus $49 per additional user, Platform at $1,000/mo for 30 users plus $20 each (all plus tax).⁷ BrokerDIY publishes its org plans, with seats included, on its pricing page. Which is cheaper depends on your headcount — the point of comparison is per-user billing versus published org plans with seats included.

What does Follow Up Boss do that BrokerDIY doesn’t?

FUB ships a mature dedicated follow-up CRM with a large integration ecosystem and per-user team plans. BrokerDIY publishes org plans with seats included, includes AI usage within each plan’s action allowance, adds tasks/calendar/CMA natively, and puts a human approval in front of AI actions that touch money or clients.
